Silly Lily?
Lily Allen is being blasted today because she's suggested that taking cocaine isn't that bad for you.
She claims that information about the drug is too one-sided and lots of her friends take it and carry on living ordinary lives and hold down good jobs.
Lily is quoted as saying 'I know lots of people that take cocaine three nights a week and get up and go to work everyday, no problem at all.'
She claims that she is clean and doesn't use any drugs, saying she gets her kicks from art!

Ceasefire considered
It's a messy Middle East at the moment...
It's day 12 of the fighting between the Israelis and the Palestinians.
Yesterday Israel bombed a school in the Gaza strip - 40 people were killed.
Israel have hinted that they might consider a ceasefire.
Britain and America have called for an immediate one.
They have agreed to a 'humanitarian corridor' to let aid get through to people who need it.

Man dies on busy Bristol road
Police are appealing for witnesses after a man on a bike was killed on the A4 Portway in Bristol yesterday.
He collided with a Red Seat Ibiza just before 6pm.
Officers have now identified the victim who was cycling in the direction of the City Centre.

Woolies closes its doors
After 99 years on our high streets, it's the end of Woolworths today - lots of stores closed over the Christmas holidays and the last few dozen shut their doors later on.
In the Kiss 105-108 region in the East of England we wave good bye to branches at Felixtowe, Bishop Stortford, Gt. Yarmouth, Beccles, Haverhill, Lowestoft, March, North Walsham, Peterborough, Sudbury, Thetford and Wymondham.
Meanwhile it's being reported that M&S are struggling now.
They're set to announce 1,000 job cuts tomorrow.

B-B-Britain Freezes
The UK plunged to ice cold temperatures last night.
-11c was reported in parts of Wales and Eastern England.
Weather warnings were issued for the East and South East England because there was so much ice on the roads and pavements.
Temperatures aren't expected to reach above freezing point today and we could get more wintery showers tomorrow.

Tragedy for Travolta
John Travolta says he's heartbroken after his teenage son died.
The film star's expected to arrive back home with his body later.
Jett, who was just 16 - he died after he had a seizure and hit his head in the bathroom.
He was taking a break with his parents at their holiday home in the Bahamas.

Police in Cambridgeshire are trying to find thieves who stole a hot-tub.
The spa bath disappeared from outside a showroom in Littleport sometime last week.
Officers say the robbers cut through a metal fence, emptied the water and carried it over a ditch and across a field!

Travolta tragedy
It's a sad day for John Travolta and his family.
A post mortem is going to be carried out today on the body of his 16 year old son.
Jett, died after having a seizure at the family's holiday home in the Bahamas.
He hit his head in the bathroom.

Fake paste recalled
Thousands of tubes of fake toothpaste are being recalled.
Sainsbury's and Boots were conned into selling the dodgy products at the start of the month.
It was labelled Colgate Cavity Protection and came in 100ml tubes.
There aren't thought to be any health risks..although some people have complained that it tasted funny.
The tubes were sold between November 28 and December 5.

Bargain hunters hit the high street
The clock is ticking...for last minute Christmas shoppers.
The high street is expected to be busy again today as loads of stores slash their prices to try and keep us spending.
Lots of them have started their Boxing Day and January sales a week early in an attempt to get our cash.
Lots of stores have struggled in 2008 because of the global credit crunch.

The lady who lied
A woman from Essex who lied to the police about being raped has been sent to prison for 4 years.
Michaela Britton said she'd been attacked several times back in 2006.
She even hurt herself to look like she'd been attacked
The police spent £ 300,000 investigating her claims.

Well if you've still got some to do, don't panic just yet - some shops across the country are going to be opening 24 hours a day from tonight right up until Christmas.
Lots of department stores are also opening later to try and encourage us to spend our money.

Norfolk Police are investigating a fight in central Norwich at the weekend involving men dressed as Santa.
There was a confrontation with a second group of men - who weren't dressed up - early on Saturday morning
Two men were hurt.
One person's been arrested.

Tycoon's girl to the rescue
Sir Richard Branson's daughter has helped to save a passenger on a plane.
A 47 year old man suffered a heart attack on a flight from Gatwick to Antigua.
Holly, who's also the sister of 'Kiss the Planet's Sam Branson is a qualified doctor.
She volunteered to check him over and spoke to medics on the ground.
The jet was diverted to Shannon Airport so he could get treatment.

Car-tastrophe on the cards
A hundred thousand jobs could be at risk unless Jaguar Land Rover is saved.
The car industry like lots of others is struggling at the moment because nobody has got the money to buy a motor.
It's thought the Indian owners of Jaguar Land Rover might be about to invest tens of million of pounds in the company.
But the luxury car maker, could still need bailing out by taxpayers to survive.
It's thought the Government might be about to offer them a £500 million loan

Jamelia has been sung to by a load of prisoners...
She was serenaded during a Christmas jail visit to see her brother.
Jamelia went to the jail to spend some time with Kairo Beckford when the inmates apparently started singing to her.
Her brother is currently serving life for shooting a teenager in Birmingham.

A British Yachtswoman has given up her dream of winning the round-the-world race to help one of her competitors who is injured.
French sailor Yann Elies suffered a fractured thigh-bone after a large wave slammed into his boat.
He's said to be in serious pain, 800 miles of the coast of South Australia.
Sam Davies has abandoned the race and gone to help him.

It's the busiest time of the year as lots of people finish work and start their Christmas getaway.
18 million of us will be on the move later on this afternoon.

Police say sorry
The Police have apologised for making a massive mistake in the Rachel Nickell murder case.
They simply got the wrong man.
Colin Stag was held for a year because the police were convinced he stabbed young mum Rachel 49 times as she walked through a park in south London back in 1992.
Yesterday, a man called Robert Napper admitted that he did it.
